About me and my therapy practice

Welcome – ‘I want to feel better’ if this is what brings you here you are not alone. Emotional difficulties can sometimes creep up on us, perhaps something doesn’t quite feel right, we ignore it hoping that it will go away, instead it lingers impacting on our behaviour, sleep, interpersonal relationships and sense of well-being until we just can’t ignore it anymore. My aim is to offer a safe environment where issues causing your unease can be explored, supporting you through this journey, empowering you to find your own way, your own solutions and to work towards change that feels right for you.

While we each have a had a unique experience of 2020, for many living with a high level of uncertainty and restrictions may have exacerbated long term difficulties or presented new ones. This experience may have left you feeling that the ground doesn’t feel just as solid beneath your feet as it once did, with the future being met with more trepidation than anticipation. You might feel the need to stop and take stock, do things at your own pace and figure out where you go from here. To provide some sense of continuity I intend offering online counselling only for the foreseeable future.

As a professional counsellor and yoga teacher I have long been interested in the inter-connectedness between the physical, mental and emotional, how an imbalance in one area impacts on others, witnessing a ripple effect as change takes place. Perhaps you, like my yoga students, would like to work towards inner balance and peace.

I have experience of working in specialist bereavement and cancer organisations as well as generic practice dealing with a wide range of issues including anxiety, low self esteem, historic childhood issues, and bereavement & loss.
