I can offer daytime, evening and weekend sessions online, via telephone or in person. I can provide additional text/email sessions if that is what would suit your schedule and needs. I offer walking and talking therapy as well as the traditional counselling room. I also offer a variety of therapy sessions outdoors. So I would love for you to reach out in whatever way you are comfortable with and we can work out what counselling/coaching style is right for you.
About me and my therapy practice
I have worked with a vast range of clients and their problems. I am comfortable with working with anyone with any kind of issue. I extensive experience of working with issues around fertility, parenting, depression and anxiety, alcohol and substance issues, family and relationship problems, special educational needs and mental health difficulties, grief, confidence, motivation, OCD, abuse and trauma. I am open to working with any problem that I might be able to help with. I really look forward to meeting you and being able to help you to improve your mood and to work through any issues or difficulties you might be having.
I strongly believe in the healing power of the counselling relationship face-to-face but in this busy and complex world I feel I need to find new ways to connect with clients that works for them. So I will now be offering my counselling services online via text, email, telephone as well as zoom. I also offer walking and talking sessions as well as outdoor therapies. Practice descriptionI am a qualified experienced counsellor offering an understanding, listening ear. I have a non-judgemental approach. I am calm and caring and can give you the time and attention you need to explore whatever is troubling you. I don't favour any particular type of counselling exactly, as I prefer to be guided by you, however we can explore different approaches if we think it might help. I operate in a person-centred way which means I will be listening empathically, trying to attune to you, your world and issues without judgement or trying to 'fix' you or your problems.
I have techniques and thought processes that have helped me and my clients in the past, if you would like that kind of help more directly, but only if you would like that. I, myself, am drawn towards nature, ecotherapy, mindfullness, wilderness and adventure therapy, gestalt therapy, attachment therapy and existentialism and we can explore these ideas if you are also drawn towards them but equally I can offer a no-nonsense approach simply offering the core condition of empathy, congruence (being true to ourselves), and unconditional positive regard, whereby I uphold my belief in your power to heal and to determine your own path with my support.
My first session
Our first session is for you to find out if us working together could be helpful for you. I charge the standard rate if you wish to continue with the sessions and we have a full session however if you feel it is not the right fit for you I will only ask for half the fee.
