About me and my therapy practice
Are you looking for support through difficult times? Are you feeling lonely and trying to cope with everything yourself? You are not alone and counselling may give you the space to be heard and the chance to flourish.
I support my clients to improve their mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. I offer a warm, open and accepting space where there is no place for judgement. I understand what it takes to really feel and face challenges and make changes to experience a better future. We can explore your past or present trials and work at your pace to see a way forward that meets your needs. Yes, counselling can support you through difficult times, it can also enhance your quality of life.
My training is as an Integrated Counsellor – including Gestalt Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis, Mindfulness and Transpersonal Therapy. I have recently trained in Rewind Therapy for PTSD which research is showing to have 85% successful outcomes. I adapt the way I work to meet the specific needs of each individual and put the client at the heart of my work.
More than any qualifications or skills I trust my ability to reach out and begin a therapeutic relationship with you based on mutual human connection.
I work with intuition, warmth and awareness. Issues I have worked with client on include anger; anxiety; self-esteem; life purpose; depression; spiritual development and loss. I am here to support you in finding your way home to yourself.
Currently all sessions are taking place online (via zoom) or telephone.
In other times, sessions take place at my home, in a residential area of Teignmouth. The therapy room is private and we will not be overheard.
My first session
The initial consultation, of up to 30 minutes, is offered free. In this session you will be able to briefly outline the issues you wish to work on in counselling and I will answer any questions you have about the counselling process and we can explore how working together might feel. If you decide not to pursue counselling with me then you are under no obligation to continue beyond the initial appointment.
