About me and my therapy practice
Life is a journey where we all experience trials and tribulations. Sometimes we have experiences that make us question ourselves and the world around us. At times we face difficulties consciously and subconsciously that we find challenging to unpack and resolve. These experiences can make us feel isolated, confused or at times we may even be unable to identify what we are feeling. As an integrative psychotherapist, I engage in various approaches suited to the client's needs. Grounding in person centred practice, I will work with you to explore and identify where you are on your journey.
I use various approaches such as psychodynamic and CBT to explore past experiences, behaviours and thinking patterns. Depending on your needs, I may use various tools and techniques in our sessions to guide you.Therapy can initially feel daunting and sometimes awkward. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space, to give you the time to work at your pace, where you can eventually feel safe enough to truly be yourself. There is no deadline, no expectations, our sessions will be about you and your needs.
Practice description
The foundation of Intra Therapy is in the relationship between the client and therapist. There is an importance on the therapeutic alliance, to aid individual growth. Clients need to feel safe throughout their therapeutic journey, as a lack of safety can hinder personal growth.
Intra Therapy uses an integrative approach. After consultation, clients are assessed to identify individual/group needs and to formulate an interchangeable plan of the therapeutic process. The Intra Therapy approach entails Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Approaches, addressing various issues and collaborating with people of diverse backgrounds. Subsequently, one of the core specialisms is culturally sensitive therapy. Recognising the role of identity in mental health and how culture is a contributing factor, culturally sensitive therapy is used in the work.
The Intra Therapy approach was created to factor individual needs as no person is the same. Using a modern approach, with historical theories, creative tools are sometimes used to aid clients in visualising their sense of self.
Intra Therapy aims to create a safe space for you to truly be yourself. The work is facilitated at the client’s pace. Valuing autonomy, the approach allows you to lead on your journey.
