About me and my therapy practice
Well done for getting here! Seeking help is the first step to making a positive change. And choosing the right counsellor for you is so important.
I am an Online Person-Centred Therapist. Originally from the UK, I am now based abroad in the sunny island of Mauritius. I offer online video and e-mail counselling.
I have a BSc in Psychology and a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling. I am a member of the BACP (The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
As a Person-Centred therapist, I work in a non-directive way. I work with the belief that the client is the expert. Sometimes, we may hit a brick wall with issues that are not allowing us to live a healthy and normal life. It is not always easy to admit that we need help, but in doing so, you are taking care of yourself.
Practice description
Counselling will provide you with the opportunity to understand yourself better and to move forward in a positive way. In the counselling sessions, through care, time, empathy and no fear of being judged, you will have the space to speak about whatever you wish, and we will work at your pace.
As I work solely online, video sessions are conducted via Zoom.
I also offer e-mail counselling which is helpful for those who might find writing to be an easier way to communicate. Some advantages of e-mail counselling are not needing to plan a specific, recurring time each week. This might be useful if you work in shifts, or have flexible working patterns. E-mail counselling also allows you the time to think about what you want to write about.
Sessions for video counselling will be 50 minutes each.
I offer both short term and long term therapy.
The fee for both video and email counselling is £35.
In the past, I have worked with the charity Life Changes, which provides low-cost counselling to individuals. I have also volunteered with Yellow Door (formerly Southampton Rape Crisis).
Please contact me via email if you are interested in starting counselling.
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute initial session (on Zoom-with or without video if you wish) to assess your objectives and expectations from counselling.
