About me and my therapy practice

Thank you for visiting my page, and taking the opportunity to see if we're a good fit. Whatever it is that’s bringing you to therapy, I hope that I can help.

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, registered with the British Association For Counselling And Psychotherapy.

I am based in Tyneside and I offer in-person and online counselling and therapy services for adults. I trained as an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor at the Northern Guild in Newcastle upon Tyne, graduating in 2019. Because everyone who comes to therapy is different, I focus on each client as an individual. That means I will tailor my approach to you, to help you understand your problems better and find solutions that work for you.

Practice description

Life can be challenging in all sorts of ways, and sometimes it's a struggle to cope. People come to therapy for many, many different reasons. This can be one specific issue, or you might have lots of difficulties that you've been living with for a long time, and which never really seem to go away.

It can seem impossible to know which way to turn at times. Many people find it useful to have a space to talk about all of this and work through it with someone who will listen – and that’s what I’m here for.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore and attend to what's bothering you. I am experienced in helping clients understand more about themselves, and working with that knowledge to find solutions to their problems. I believe awareness is the first step towards taking control of your life, healing from painful experiences, and ultimately feeling better. My approach can help clients find ways to cope in the short term, while also tackling the root causes of their difficulties.

If you feel we may be a good fit, or would like to find out more, please do get in touch. I offer in-person sessions from my counselling room in Newcastle city centre, and online sessions by Zoom.

My first session

I offer a free initial phone call so that we can be introduced to each other and you can get an idea of how I work. After this, I offer an assessment session at a reduced rate, which gives me the chance to understand what's bringing you to therapy in more detail, as well as offering us both the chance to see if we're a good fit. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of good counselling, so it's important to find a counsellor that's right for you.

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy. Some people find a few sessions is enough to help them deal with their issue, and for others long-term work might be more suitable.
