About me and my therapy practiceI undertake individual, couples, and family work with adults and young people. In addition, I undertake work with adoptive families under contract for a number of Adoption Support Agencies. I also undertake parenting work with parents and carers often as part of a professional support network.
Much of my work is with people who have experienced early life trauma and or attachment related difficulties. Experiences in these areas can contribute to our health and resilience as well as difficulties and ill health in many areas of life.
I work flexibly drawing on a number of models of work specifically aimed at helping people with difficulties. My core training includes:
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy 1994 - 2000
Introductory and Intermediate Family therapy 2005 -7
EMDR Adults level 1,2 and 3 and Children levels 1 and 2
Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy - Accredited practitioner since 2009, Experienced practitioner 2018 - present
I have worked therapeutically with children and adults over the past 30 years. This work has been in a wide variety of settings including the health service, social care, education and the private sector. For the past 5 years I have been an independent practitioner.
