About me and my therapy practice
Hello there, I’m Anjali Bonner Hughes. I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist who works with a spectrum of issues that may be affecting your quality of life — including anxiety, depression, relationship distress, lack of self-worth, and questions about purpose and identity. Therapy can be useful in understanding anything that is blocking your full flourishing, and can help facilitate your personal growth, whatever you define that to be.
I offer remote therapy during convenient Saturday slots.
You may be struggling with relationship or family difficulties; anxiety, stress, or panic attacks; low mood or depression; loss or bereavement; times of change or transition; low self-esteem or questions about identity; distress related to childhood or the past; or uncertainties about meaning and purpose. Whatever your particular concerns may be, I offer a space where you will be heard, valued, and treated with compassion and respect. Together we will explore where you are in life, how you got there, and where you’d like to go next.
I am integrative psychotherapist, which means that I can draw on a variety of therapeutic traditions — including psychodynamic therapy, person-centred therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) — in our work together. Working collaboratively with you, we are able to craft a therapeutic relationship that meets your individual needs, goals, and personality. I have a particular interest in existential therapy and in compassion-focused therapy, which are suitable for a wide variety of presenting issues.
My first session
I offer a free 30-minute consultation before we begin working together. During this consultation, you will be able to share the main issues you are currently experiencing, and we will discuss what you hope to gain from therapy. This provides us an opportunity to explore what our therapeutic work will be, and what our therapeutic relationship may look like, if you choose to work with me.
We can work together either on an open-ended basis, or for a set period of time, depending on your particular needs and goals. We can discuss this during the initial consultation and can update this later on as needed.
