About me and my therapy practice
Psychotherapy has helped me know myself better. I believe we can all benefit from therapy by giving ourselves time to focus.
Admitting that we might need a counsellor can seem daunting. However, there are times when it helps to have someone to talk to outside of our immediate circle as we endeavour to make sense of thoughts, feelings and/or circumstances that may be causing distress.
As a counsellor and psychotherapist I will listen to you carefully to discern the key areas of concern, and work with you to enable understanding and consider with you ways to bring about change.
I chose to focus my training on the person-centred approach to therapy, which accords most closely with my own experience and philosophy. This approach provides a nurturing environment which will allow you to fully access your own powerful resources. I believe that working in this way will facilitate the development of greater self-awareness and provide you with the capacity to address your difficulties. It can open doors and make growth possible.
We can focus on a particular issue in detail, or take a broader view of you and your life so far. You can choose to work on a long-term basis or decide on a fixed number of sessions up front.
