About me and my therapy practice

I have several years of experience supporting clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, identity, self-esteem, sexuality, and historical trauma. I also work with workplace stresses and challenges.

My therapy style is warm and accepting, which enables us to develop a trusting working relationship. I will provide a safe, open space for you to share whatever is on your mind to help you understand and resolve any difficulties you may be experiencing.

It can be daunting seeking out help, especially if you are feeling low or when worrying becomes overwhelming. If you're ready to start the healing process I would warmly welcome the opportunity to help you on your way.

In addition to offering counselling services, I am also a counselling tutor and lecturer and have a Professional Doctorate in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

If you would like to book an appointment, or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me on 07851479765.

Practice description

You will determine the content of each session. You may wish to explore how you're feeling during the session, revisit events that happened in between sessions, or understand how historical events shape who you are today.

My role will be to listen and understand you with no judgement. This will help you bring some clarity to who you are which will help create meaning and understanding from your experiences. This clarity will enable you to resolve any difficulties that you are experiencing.

In addition to our time together we will explore some things you can do in between sessions, such as writing a journal, meditation, and other mindfulness activities which will help you be more present with yourself.

My first session

During the first session, you will have the opportunity to share the reasons you chose to seek support. This might include describing any historical or current challenges you are facing, or any goals you wish to achieve.

You will also be able to ask any questions about therapy, and how we will work together. I will also go through the key points of our working agreement.

About me and my therapy practice

As a person-centred supervisor, we will work in an environment characterised by the core conditions. It will be a space where we get closer to your experience with your clients as we develop trust in your own instincts and intuition. This will help you be more present and self-aware as you continue to work with your clients.

I maintain a curious stance with our work, as we hold your work up to the light and wonder about the different meanings and truths that we notice. I believe that being open about ourselves and our clients enriches and creates possibilities for different ways of being.

Your work will also be reviewed in the context of the BACP ethical framework, along with legal and institutional requirements. Development of your practice, CPD, and marketing can also be explored.

I have extensive experience working with students and newly qualified counsellors, although I welcome all counsellors at any part of their career.

In addition to my counselling and supervisory work, I am also a counselling tutor and lecturer and hold a Professional Doctorate in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Practice description

My desire after each supervision session is that you feel listened to, and accepted while also challenged. I believe that there is never just one way to work with a client, so I feel it is important to understand how your own history, personality and knowledge inform your choices, and to explore alternative ways of working. This will facilitate your self-awareness and development.
