About me and my therapy practice
As your counsellor, during our time together, I will make every effort to:
Understand your world, value you unconditionally, be genuine.
I am not just a supportive listener; my training and experience can facilitate greater awareness of yourself, your influences and how you are in the world. These insights can bring meaningful change.
You might come with specific things to address or they might be harder to pinpoint, perhaps feelings of anxiety, low mood, lack of confidence...
A client has described me as the 'impartial person who has the training to listen and respond appropriately with comments and questions that empower the investigation of self'.
Impartial does not mean uncaring, another has said:
'In essence I feel you have cared for me..and reminded me to look after myself'.
My role is to provide a protected, calm and non-judgemental space where you will feel increasingly able to:
Feel less anxious, more connected to those around you.
Value yourself more.
Feel less guarded, self protective, threatened.
Rely increasingly on your own experience, less on others' opinions.
Be open to your genuine feelings and experience, both past and present, to trust in and act on them.
Accept the movement and change in you.
