About me and my therapy practice
I offer confidential, ethical and non-judgemental Counselling to Adults and Young People. I am happy to discuss any issues at all, that may be on your mind. You can contact me in confidence to arrange a no obligation session for yourself or a young person. Sessions can be delivered face to face, by telephone or online, whichever you feel most comfortable doing.
I work with clients on a one to one basis and sessions are usually held weekly or fortnightly. However, you may only wish to have one session and you are under obligation to continue therapy sessions.
Practice description
I have worked with young people for many years, in a number of settings and have a tremendous amount of empathy for issues they face. My work has focused mainly on 11-18 year olds. I currently work with teenagers and adolescents in local schools and colleges. I have recent experience of counselling young people via GP referral, in a local NHS, Health Care Centre.
I have substantial experience of working with adults struggling with grief and loss and have offered therapy to clients within a local hospice as part of the Bereavement Counselling Service. I also have lot of personal experience in this area which has heightened my sense of empathy for clients who find themselves in similar circumstances.
Additionally, I have offered treatment, as part of a stepped care model, to Adults suffering with anxiety and depression, within an NHS, Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Service. Anxiety and Depression can be linked to so many different life experiences, therefore I am open to hearing what may have triggered these symptoms for you.
My first session
Before therapy commences I will ask you to complete a client contact form which gives important information about the counselling process. Sessions last 50 minutes to an hour and allow an opportunity for you to talk freely about what is on your mind.
There are no rights or wrongs with what to talk about in counselling. All of your thoughts and feelings are valid and worthy of being heard. I am here to sit beside you and listen.
