About me and my therapy practice
I welcome enquiries from individuals and couples and offer short or long term integrative therapy. I believe that counselling can help you develop an understanding of your difficulties, recognising and drawing on your own strengths to gain insight into problems.
Counselling can take people from feeling a victim of circumstance to begin a new approach to life in a fresh and more resourceful way. If your relationship is in difficulties, counselling offers an opportunity to understand your issues. Perhaps you are finding it difficult to cope with life? Counselling can help you deal with your emotional distress.
I am a trained anger management counsellor and have delivered anger management group training as well as individual anger management sessions.
I have also undertaken additional training as a couples counsellor. Therapy is an investment in your relationship and can help you enable you find more appropriate ways of coping and understanding your thinking, feelings and behaviours.

Practice description
Different therapeutic approaches are available to help you and may include elements of:
Solution focused brief therapy (SFBT) dealing with a particular issue rather than dwelling on past problems
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) aiming to influence negative emotions and try out new ways of behaving and reacting
Psychodynamic psychotherapy focussing on past experiences and childhood relationships

My first session
In your first session you will have the opportunity to explain why you have come to counselling at this particular time in your life and to ask questions about how counselling can support you in your current difficulties.
Counselling offers face-to-face sessions either on a long term or short term basis. A therapy session is a time set aside on agreed date at an agreed place, usually weekly and sessions last for 50 minutes.
