Suzy Cole

I am a cognitive behaviour therapist, teacher and trainer. I work in private practice and in schools. I have worked with children and young people for 30 years.

I offer therapy to children , young people and families. I lead parenting groups and courses. I run training sessions for teachers and support staff.

The therapy that I offer is tailored to suit the needs of the individual, taking into account their age, ability, gender and cultural and religious background. I usually see clients for a minimum of once per week, people can be seen for shorter or longer periods depending on what is agreed by us all. I draw on a wide variety of approaches, including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, family therapy and mindfulness.

I work with parents and carers of children and young people of school age directly on issues such as conduct problems, anxiety disorders, depression and self harm. I have frequently worked with parents and carers of adolescents to negotiate through this often challenging period.

I am experienced in working with families whereby the most effective intervention is to work holistically with the family members to bring about positive change.
