About me and my therapy practice
If you are experiencing high levels of anxiety, shame, or fear for a prolonged period of time, this can negatively affect the way you perceive yourself and others. It can make you feel misunderstood, lonely, and disconnected from society. Dealing with these symptoms can feel overwhelming. However, having a safe place where you can talk freely can be the first step towards understanding and processing painful emotions.
Whether you wish to explore the past, want to understand current issues, or feel you are ready to make a positive change in your life, we can work together to achieve your goals. I will provide you with a safe space that is free of judgement, where you can talk and learn more about your thoughts and feelings. Through insight, exploration, and adaptation I can help you to reach greater level of connectedness with yourself and others, feeling hope for the present and future and developing skills to regain better emotional control that will help you to achieve better quality of life.
As a counsellor my theoretical approach is integrative using person centred approaches, psychodynamic and CBT.
However, I tend to rely mostly on Cognitive and Behavioural techniques (exploring thoughts, feelings, and behaviours) followed by Solution Focused strategies which will assist you to identify the resources and qualities you have within yourself, those that will help you to overcome positively the issue or issues that brought you in to counselling.
