About me and my therapy practice
First of all, let me thank you for taking time to view my profile.
The model of training that I chose to pursue at a core-foundation, was Person-Centred counselling. Person-Centred counselling, is a counselling model that will facilitate you as an individual, to explore what is right for you within a safe and contained environment. Person-Centred counselling is formed around a basis that the relationship quality and connection is a prerequisite for positive development and maturation to occur.
In addition, I also chose to develop myself on an educative level with further counselling training and complemented my core training by obtaining a B.A. (Hons) in Counselling Solutions, back in 2018. The understanding that I gained from completing this undergraduate degree, has been assimilated into my counselling practice and this means that I can draw upon a wealth of knowledge to suit the client’s understanding and growth. (For example, this knowledge draws upon theories such as Psychodynamic theory, C.B.T. and Solution Focused therapy and finding what appropriate, is unique to each individual client).
Currently I'm able to offer online 1-1 counselling of up to 60 minutes in duration. The counselling sessions will be aimed at providing you with a safe space, where you will be listened to from an empathic viewpoint and encouraged to investigate what’s brought to seek counselling in depth. Of course, this will be conducted at your own pace and it will be ultimately decided by you - on how far you want to investigate something; in line with your tolerance levels. Occasionally though, this might involve me challenging you and trying to get you to see things from a different perspective and also aims at uncovering hidden reasons on why you think/act or do something in particular situations. I also work with clients in experiential ways and I will work as best as I can to adapt to you as an individual, working within my training limit. The amount of sessions required, will be determined by you the client and discussions at regular intervals will be integrated into the counselling journey to discuss this.
I also hold an up-to-date enhanced D.B.S. (Disclosure and Barring certificate) which is registered as part of the online service.
My first session
I offer a free preliminary virtual assessment session in order to meet and discuss your counselling requirements. This initial session aims at finding out if the therapy I provide is suited for you and whether or not we can work together.
Standard session rates are £35, however this is open to negotiation and is dependent on your circumstances; with concessions applying.
