About me and my therapy practice
Change and emotional problems can be overwhelming and exhausting. Asking for help may feel difficult, but once started, counselling may free you from feeling stuck and unhappy and help you reach a better place.
I offer the conditions where life's issues may be explored by talking in a safe, confidential, non-judgmental environment with someone who is supportive, and has your growth and wellbeing at heart. This defines the Person Centered Approach - that everyone has the potential to reduce symptoms of psychological tension, make changes, and improve quality of life.
I believe my 30 years' experience as a clinician in the NHS has given me a wealth of insight into relationships with people in need. I then trained as a therapist at the University of Warwick and have also completed many hours of private study encompassing a wide range of humanistic approaches to the therapy relationship, giving me access to an eclectic or integrative form of counselling if the client requests or prefers.
I have worked with people with physical disabilities, and neurological conditions, as well as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, life changes, and have a special interest therapy for performers and the painful issues that can arise from the struggles of everyday life.
I work from a dedicated and comfortable therapy room in Hexham and offer evening and weekend appointments.
