About me and my therapy practice

Welcome!  If you're here, it is likely that you are looking for someone to talk to ;  somebody that you can trust to  help you work through issues that are troubling you and who you sense will understand.  I know that talking helps, and that working with someone who we can trust and who  will meet us with kindness and acceptance of who we are and what we bring, can make all the difference.

I am an experienced  counsellor.   I can offer you a safe and  confidential  space where you can talk about what is troubling you and will listen without judgment and help  bring a deeper understanding to what is concerning you.  My approach is founded on the principle that we all have the potential to live a rich and fulfilling life and is integrative, drawing on a range of theoretical models and ways of working which can adapt to meet the clients needs and preferred ways of working. The holistic context in which I work sees problems not just as difficulties to be overcome, but as part of a process which may contain a message or call from a deeper part of ourselves that is longing for change.

I began my work as a counsellor after many years of working in education and have worked as a counsellor in a local mental health charity and established my own  private practice in 2018. I have an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology, a PG Diploma in Counselling and am in regular supervision. I am currently engaged in further professional training towards an Advanced Diploma in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy. I am BACP Registered and Accredited.

I work from a quiet room in Waterbeach which has frequent rail services from Ely and Cambridge and lies close to the A10 and A14. There is excellent parking outside. I welcome any questions that you may have.

Practice description

I work with individual clients  face to face.

I currently work both online and in person.  I follow the current Covid guidance  regarding safe working practice.

My first session

Our first session provides us with   an hour  in which we can meet each other for the first time.  It is an opportunity for you to find out how I work and whether you  feel that I am the right person for you,  and for me to get a sense of what you need  and know how I might be able to help you.  There is a charge for this session  however there is no obligation to continue after this point

In this first session I  will give you space  to tell me  something  about yourself, to let me know what brings you to counselling at this time in your life and an   opportunity for you to ask me any questions that you may have. I will tell you more about how I work and what this might mean for us if we move forwards together.

At the end of our time together we will think about what might happen next, and if you decide to take the work  forward make a regular time and day to meet.
