Due to the Coronavirus situation, I am currently working online. I hope to resume face to face working as soon as advice indicates that it is safe to do so.
About me and my therapy practice
Welcome! If you're here, it is likely that you are looking for someone to talk to ; somebody that you can trust to help you work through issues that are troubling you and who you sense will understand. The first step can sometimes be the hardest. When we are struggling with life , it can often be difficult to reach out, to know where to start , or to imagine that anyone might understand our perspective.
I know that talking helps, and that working with someone who we can trust and who will meet us with kindness, can make all the difference. I am an experienced counsellor based in the North of Cambridge. My approach is founded on the principle that we all have the potential to live a rich and fulfilling life. I offer a safe and confidential space where you can talk about what is troubling you. I will listen without judgment or ridicule and help you to bring a deeper understanding to what is concerning you.
Many of my clients come because they are going through a time of great change or upheaval, or have experienced the breakdown of a relationship or a loss, or finding that life is a struggle. I work from a holistic context which sees problems not just as difficulties to be overcome, but as part of a process which may contain a message or call from a deeper part of ourselves that is longing for change. I will listen deeply to what you bring and support you to find your way through and discover what you need.
I work from a quiet room in Waterbeach village which has frequent rail services from Ely and Cambridge and lies close to the A10 and A14. I have an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology, a PG Diploma in Counselling and in regular supervision. I am BACP Registered. I welcome any questions that you may have.
Practice description
During this period of the Coronavirus pandemic I am working virtually via Skype/Zoom or on the phone. My first session
Our first session gives us an hour to meet each other for the first time, without any obligation to continue. It is a time for you to find out how I work and whether you feel that I am the right person for you and for me to get a sense of what you are looking for. I will give you space to tell me something about yourself and let me know what brings you to counselling at this time in your life and there will be opportunity for you to ask me any questions that you may have. At the end of our time together we will think about what might happen next, and if you decide to take the work forward make a regular time and day to meet.
