About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I am an integrative supervisor experienced with adults, couples and young people (11+) and I am happy to work with experience and trainee counsellors

Fees for one-to-one supervision are £45 per hour or £60 for ninety minutes - however these suit you - online, telephone or face to face in WA7 (I offer a discount to fortnightly students - ask me about this).

Have you considered group supervision?

Most counsellors love their jobs but a big downside is working in isolation. Group supervision is supportive, enlightening even, at times, funny - an opportunity to share with, and bounce ideas off, other counsellors.

I have two groups – consider join us in

A small supervision group on a Tuesday, at 1pm (at lunchtime for convenience) for an hour, twice a month - two spaces available, claim yours

A two hour, online, small supervision group monthly, on a Wednesday morning - one space available, claim yours

Both groups can have a maximum of six members but, on average four attend the group.

Fees are £15 for one-hour sessions or £25 for two-hour sessions.

I am down to earth, I have a good sense of humour and I will mostly work collaboratively with you.

To help with searches, I am stating I am a relationship supervisor, couples supervisor, adults supervisor, young people supervisor, Systemic supervisor, integrative supervisor, group supervisor, individuals supervisor, professionals supervisor, teachers supervisor, online supervisor, telephone supervisor, face to face supervisor, group supervisor, peer supervisor, group facilitator.

Practice description

I use the Seven Eyed Supervision Model - this was developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet in 1985, who integrated the relational and systematic aspects of supervision in a single theoretical model. The model is relational because it focuses on the relationship between the client, therapist and supervisor and systemic because it focuses on the interplay between each relationship and their context within the wider system.

Happy to welcome new group attendees on bi monthly Tuesdays or for the monthly, two hour supervision, on a Wednesday morning, online group supervision - ask anything you like, all modalities welcome.

One to one supervision for whatever length of time you need and delivered online, telephone or in WA7 - whatever suits you.

Group only offered online at this time but for up to 120 minutes monthly or small groups for one hour, but twice per fortnight.

Contact me to discussion / check if we are a good fit - no obligation

My first session

I offer eveyone the opportunity to meet, telephone or have a brief zoom session with me to check out our fit.  So, presuming everything has felt ok - I'll then send you our my contract for one to one or for group supervision but I ask you not to sign it until you have attend a session - so you are not committed.

Our first session would be to ensure you were confirtable and did you have any questions about the contract, the supervision or anything else.  The first session is quite fluid this will be part getting to know each other and part focusing on clients - whever you feel is needed on the day because our supervision has begun.

I have a collaberative style but this doesn't mean I won't challenge you if I ever felt this was needed - and you can challenge me if you disagree - a lively debate could be enlighting to us both!

Payment terms, please note, I have a first come, first served system so I ask for payment, in advance, at the time of booking, each time - to confirm your attendance.

I am an experienced, accredited, integrative, counsellor & supervisor, Relate trained in working with couples, relationships, adults and young people (11+).

About me and my therapy practice

Hello, welcome - I am an experienced counsellor, working with adults, young people, aged 11+ and relationships / couples.

I work with issues from anxiety, bereavement, depression to low self esteem and trauma. Some people have a difficult decision to make and some have had a recent loss – this isn’t always a death, but it’s an unwanted ending of some kind.

I welcome everyone and no problem is too small – if it’s an issue to you, with my experience, I hope to help.

Being an older counsellor probably helps, as I have a lot of life experience and have gained insights into many areas.

I aspire for our counselling time together to become a safe place and for our therapy to provide you with the time and space you need to explore your thoughts, feelings and beliefs, fully supported, as YOU decide on your future path.

I work with individuals as they explore, reconnect or re-discover themselves.  With couples, who then either reconnect in a more positive framework or disconnect but in a more constructive way than previously.

I enjoy counselling young people.  Firstly, to hear them and how they experience their life and then to encourage and enable them to develop a more resilient attitude to life by recognising their strengths and being able to express themselves.

I offer Single Session Therapy - one session, up to 100 minutes, to work on one issue (not suitable for addictions). To explore an issue in-depth and the possible resolutions, maybe look at all the achievable solutions and then create an action plan moving forward.

I also offer Rewind therapy - contact me to discuss your requirements.

Practice description

Although I came to counselling later in life, I have accrued considerable counselling experience from over sixteen years in private practice and from my time in secondary schools, Children’s Centres, work settings and, in couples work, gained from over ten years working with the Relate organisation, as a relationship and young person's counsellor.

I am an integrative counsellor. Integrative, which in my case, means using a mix of several counselling theories, depending on your needs, including person centred, systemic & TA to name a few.

This means I can work with you on issues from the past, present or fears for the future. I believe the more therapeutic tools I have, the more options this gives me when working with you.

I also have qualifications in and experience working with NLP and Mindfulness.

All this training and experience means I have the flexibility to tailor my service to you, as an individual, couple, young person, EAP or group, to better meet your needs.

Payment / Confirming Your Appointment:

I have a first come first served appointment system, to reduce no shows and I ask all my cients to pay for the session, to confirm the appointment, at the time they make the booking - in advance. If payment is not received within 24 hours - the appointment will be offered elsewhere. No problem, come back when you are ready.

My first session

I offer online and telephone counselling nationwide and some face to face appointments in WA7 all these options are for teens, adults and relationship counselling.

Once we agree an appointment, I will send you the counselling agreement we will work within.  This outlines confidentiality and GDPR and sending it / reading this before the session, helps keep admin to a minimum on the day.

My dedicated counselling room (f you come to me) is up a flight of stairs into a comfortable room with two easy chairs and a large, comfy sofa.

I offer all my adult clients a fifteen minutes window to see if they can feel comfortable (I think chemistry between client and counsellor is so important, even when online or via the phone).

We will then briefly discuss the counselling agreement we will be working within, confidentiality and any initial queries you have.

We will then broadly outline your reasons for this session and then, after fifteen minutes - I will ask if you wish to continue and if you do not feel comfortable at this point, the session can end and you will receive a full refund, same day.

Hopefully, this will give you the confidence to proceed - the first step can be hard enough without worrying if you will waste your money too!

Young People go through a one hour assessment process so sadly I cannot offer them the same fifteen minute option, at this time.
