About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative therapist based in the Wakefield area. Integrative means I use multiple counselling approaches and techniques within my work, therefore I can work in a way that best suits each individual client rather than be fixed to one specific mode of therapy.
I qualified in 2017 and became Accredited by the BACP in 2019.
I am also a clinical supervisor offering supervision to other counsellors.
Practice description
I have a special interest in anxiety and low mood/depression, as I believe this is something we can all experience at some point in our lives. My speciality is being able to sit with clients in the emotional pain they are experiencing and be alongside them whilst making sense of it together. I draw upon a range of techniques and methods to do this and always work at the pace the client feels most comfortable with. I have a strong drive to help clients work towards self compassion and empowerment.
I am an affiliate counsellor for a few EAPs, offering solution focussed counselling for workplace clients. I have a private practice and have a special interest in working with clients who struggle with their relationship with food/disordered eating.
I have experience working in a women’s only centre providing time-limited IAPT therapy to women of all ages suffering from mental health issues, mainly complex trauma, sexual abuse, childhood sexual abuse, and domestic abuse. Also, a range of other problems such as anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, eating disorders, addictions, chronic pain conditions, rape, anger management.
I also work for the University of Leeds as part of the Disability Services support worker team, as a Specialist Mentor for students with diagnosed mental health difficulties and other chronic conditions. The mentoring role allows a more developmental therapeutic relationship where there is collaboration and support tailored to a variety of aspects of a students’ life, to encourage and ultimately empower the student.
Costs:
• Adults (18+): £45 per session.
• Students or counselling trainees: £40 per session
Each session lasts 50 minutes.
• I offer a free 20-minute introductory session (telephone or online) to see if we might be able to work together
How to make payment:
I am currently accepting bank transfer only. Bank details will be given upon appointment confirmation.

About me and my therapy practice
What you can expect from me as a supervisor…
I am open to working with counsellors from various modalities as would seek to understand your individual approach to counselling. I have experience as a Counselling Skills Tutor at Leeds Beckett University, working with counselling trainees on the PG Diploma and would welcome trainee counsellor to my practice.
My job as a supervisor is to uphold the counselling profession; I do this by working with the therapist to monitor client safety and wellbeing, and creating a facilitative and nurturing environment in which we can explore together the therapeutic relationships between you and your clients, and reflect on the unconscious processes which can emerge between them.
Also in the process of supervision, I would support and encourage the supervisee to become aware of any internal responses that may help enhance their personal and professional development.
