About me and my therapy practice

My name is Christina.  I can help you with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem/confidence, issues around identity, difficult childhood experiences and many more.

As your counsellor I will provide you with a confidential non-judgmental space in which you can feel safe to tell your story, express your thoughts and feelings and feel heard. I will support you to explore issues you are finding painful and distressing and help you towards a resolution.

The way I work:

I will take an active part in your sessions, rather than just listen.  I will offer you a supportive and reflective space and listen to you in an open-mind and non-judgmental way.  I will be transparent in the way I work with you and share my thoughts and reflections with you.

My approach is described as integrative.  This means that I work using skills from different counselling approaches (psychodynamic, humanistic, CBT, solution focussed or creative methods) to best help you with whatever difficulties you bring to counselling. Everyone uses counselling in their own unique way depending on personality, history and the issues you want to address and, therefore, I am flexible and adjust to your needs.

I know from my own experience that life can be difficult at times, maybe because of our experiences as a child and/or what life throws at us as adults. And often we find that there is a link between the two, themes that repeat in our lives and that continue to cause us pain, anxiety and unhappiness. Or we might have suffered the loss of a loved one that is hard to cope with, separation/divorce, loss of income, confusion over our identity (sexual, nationality, cultural), loss of home country regardless of whether this was through choice or fleeing persecution, bullying in the workplace etc.

I can also help with issues around parenting your children.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a clinical supervisor and have completed a Diploma in Creative Supervision with the London Centre for Psychodrama.

I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor, working both with children and adults. I have worked for the charity Place2Be for many years, offering supervision to counsellors, both experienced and trainee, working with children in schools. I now run a private practice as a therapist and supervisor.

As a Supervisor I offer an empathic, supportive approach using creative and theoretical approaches to explore and deepen the clinical work with clients. I can give you ideas, insight and constructive feed-back on the client work being discussed.

I am flexible  in my supervision approach, while remaining accepting of different theoretical models and each supervisee’s unique and individual style of delivering therapy.  My intention would be that the supervisee leaves a supervision session feeling a little clearer and better about their work, and goes on to make sense of their sessions and to achieve therapeutic progress with their client.

I have extensive experience in safeguarding, multi-agency liaison and working with parents.
