About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP Registered Integrative Counsellor.

I often see clients struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, depression and relationship difficulties (in the home, at work, and with partners).

I have also worked with clients who have experienced challenging traumas as well as addiction.

Amongst other approaches, I use humanistic/person centred, psychodynamic counselling and contemplative psychology.

(I'll explain more below).

I also see this through a Buddhist lens, as I trained for many years as a monk.

- one of the most important parts of this practise is learning how we can be more aware, at ease and focussed in the present moment.

It is in this place that we find healing and peace.

I work with people of all ages.

I have worked extensively in schools, and with adults, young adults and children from many different cultural and social backgrounds.

Some clients will want to work on these aspects of themselves for several months. For others, one or two sessions is enough.

It takes a brave leap of faith to come to therapy. But please know this work is non-judgemental and your opinions are respected and validated throughout the process.

Feel free to email, call, or text me to ask any questions at all.

Practice description

Humanistic/person centred and psychodynamic counselling in a nutshell:

Often clients will come to me with complex and difficult feelings and distressing thoughts.

I provide a safe space for you to come to terms with these and understand how they manifest in the present moment, and what may have caused them in the past.

We will then discover new ways for you to relate to yourself, so you become more aware of what triggers the difficult feelings and thoughts, and how best to process them in the here and now.

My training and knowledge of Buddhist practice is part of this creative and collaborative approach.
