About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP registered Psychotherapist and in addition to my private practice, I also work for the NHS in cancer service.
I am also in my final stages of completing a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at Middlesex University and working on my dissertation which explores the experience of chronic pain.
Reasons for seeking counselling may vary and these could include a wide range of psychological or emotional distress as well as the need to explore your life in a deeper way or reflect on particular life decisions or dilemmas.
As a therapist, I offer you an opportunity to do this, in a confidential, compassionate and non-judgemental way.
I mostly work from an existential framework, this means that I see therapy as an invitation to explore your worldviews, values and choices, becoming more present to both yourself and others. Therapy is also an opportunity to become aware of who you want to be - the authentic you- and the obstacles that prevent you from doing so.
I also hold a relational centred approach where I see the therapy as a co-created, evolving process where both therapist and client can contribute.
As well as the existential framework, the way I work is also influenced by psychodynamic theory and I also incorporate CBT interventions when appropriate.
I offer weekly sessions of 50 minutes long and I can provide short term and long therapy in English and Spanish.
Individual sessions are £70. A limited number of reduced fee places are available for those on lower incomes or for psychotherapy/counselling trainees.
