About me and my therapy practice
Hello and Welcome im Sarah a qualified and highly experienced Integrative Counsellor, based in Kent and running an evening private practice on Zoom.
I have worked for over 12 years supporting children, young people and adults of all ages.
I have an active, dynamic approach to work, focusing on getting things done, and am always exploring new ways to develop my understanding and ability to help clients in the most difficult and complex situations. I believe that changing one's mindset is key to living a more balanced life.
You may be considering how counselling could help you . Talking through your worries in counselling and having an understanding of your situation and feelings confidentially in your sessions can help you work through difficulties and cope better, this in turn would mean that you can feel more balanced and make moving forward with your life easier.
I work with clients offering both long term and short term counselling options. I also run a ‘drop in’ counselling online clinic where people can book a one off session where we can think together about a certain issue that maybe worrying you and any other issues that you may find helpful.
My expertise with children, parents, and families encompasses domestic abuse, domestic violence, dissociation, childhood trauma ,sexuality, depression and anxiety and perfectionism and cultural issues and diversity.
I also specialise in working with teenagers and their parents and carers who support them.
Young people today may face more pressures than ever before especially with the current global situation and many go through stressful times at school or university. This can lead to feelings of anxiety , low mood and worry about the future. In my integrative work with teenagers I strive to build self esteem and help build strategies to help them understand what they feel maybe holding them back and what works for them to find calm and balance so they can move forward through stressful situations with a toolbox of things to help them.
I also have a solid experience of supporting young people in the care system as their day to day issues can sometimes be quite complex and require an integrative approach.
As an adult you maybe feeling anxious or experiencing low mood or depression or maybe struggling with perfectionism and or anxiety and not know what you do. Together we can build an understanding of what issues are troubling you and find the way through giving you practical advise and knowledge so situations are less triggering and can be seen more clearly.
I offer consultations with parents and carers and have much experience supporting children in the care system so can help you deal positively with Social Services and Schools, NHS, and Police. "
My first session
I offer a free 15mins phone conversation where we can decide if we are an energetic and therapeutic match. Following that we can book your initial 60 min consultation , in this time together i can get an understanding about what you would like to explore in your counselling sessions and we can come up with a plan moving forward if you feel comfortable working together.
Weekly sessions are the same day and time each week and i do not offer fortnightly sessions.
I review sessions approx every 6 weeks to keep track of progress.
