About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative Counsellor/psychotherapist

My training comprises teachings based on psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive behavior approaches. It offers broad academic foundation that can be shaped according to each individual's needs.

I can offer you a space that is safe and non-judgemental where you can start exploring and making sense of your issues. You can challenge present thoughts, feelings and behavioural patterns and hopefully find a new way of relating that you are more contented with.

Over the years my interests in trauma and its impact on client’s life have increased. We now understand better how trauma events (single of multiple) affect not just survivor’s psychological health but their physical wellbeing too. The body can be used as another tool to help healing trauma wounds.

For some clients, pandemic has exacerbated past traumatic experienced which client felt they have ‘put away and have dealt with’. For some, pandemic with its alienation, deaths, uncertainties was traumatic in itself.

I have undertaken number of courses in this field and have recently completed a post-graduate training in Trauma Therapy.

Practice description

Every client's story is different and unique and deserves to be heard.

Sometimes clients need time and space to start feeling safe and comfortable to share their story. Often boundaries of therapeutic relationship offer that safety.

We will thus work towards developing a meaningful, reparative and corrective relationship, in particular if the original parental bond was deficient. It is this relationship that will facilitate opportunities to explore further, to be curious and to go deeper. We will do this by looking both in the past to understand your patterns and experiences, reasons behind their development and by looking forward to see how you can change them, if that is what you wish to do.

The therapy is client led however goals are discussed and regularly reviewed. We work around these, but there is still freedom to deviate and explore more pressing matters as and when they arise.

Therapy can be open-ended or time-limited. This is explored and discussed together. When the time comes to think of the ending, we will agree a date and work towards an ending that is mutual and on client’s terms.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and for you to get a feel about the way I work. Following that, we can decide whether we could work together.

This is your chance to tell me your story, to tell me why you feel you need counselling and why now.

I offer a brief, no obligation, 15min phone consultation.
