About me and my therapy practice

Do you need time and space to talk?

If so, I am here to offer you the time and space to explore your worries and concerns in a confidential and safe space.

In a busy world full of judgements and rules, I can offer you a space where your thoughts and worries will be heard, acknowledged and respected. I can provide you with a place where you will not feel judged and where you can feel free to express your deepest concerns.

Anxiety, bereavement, depression, grief, loss, fear, low self esteem and problems with motivation and belief in life can effect us all, especially now in the uncertain times surrounding COVID 19 and the trauma that it has brought into our lives. My role is to address those concerns with you.

I will try to make your first consultation with me as comfortable as possible  because I know it can be an unknown experience. During this initial consultation, we will work together to explore what has bought you to counselling. Having counselling with me will give you the confidential, quiet, and ethically secure space you need to safely explore your concerns.

I am passionate about helping you to move forward and to improve your quality of life, to help you to resolve current problems, and to develop tools to empower you to manage any future issues.

My approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am also qualified as a Person - Centred Experiential, High Intensity Therapist (IAPT), recognised by the NHS and NICE for Counselling for Depression. I am also currently training with Strathclyde University, working  towards my Level Three in EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy).

I work interactively with a wide range of clients from all backgrounds and age groups, all experiencing very individual and sensitive issues. I am also interested in working with clients from different cultures, and to navigate with you the difficulties and challenges you may face in your world. In forming a collaborative relationship with you, we will work together to gain more psychological clarity.

My extensive experience incorporates many years of work within the NHS Acute Brain Impairment and Trauma Sector, Educational and Special Needs provision (PMLD, Autism & Asperger's), Grief, Loss and Bereavement  charity sector, Private Practice and draws from combined professional, registered and up to date training.

I can help you with chronic illness and pain, Long Term Conditions, managing stress, self - esteem, depression, identity concerns, anxiety, work related issues, family relationships, health related problems and other concerns that will be personal to you.

Getting Started

I can appreciate that making the first step can be incredibly challenging. If you have not experienced any counselling or psychotherapy before it is understandable that you may be nervous about what to expect. Many people may find the idea of having counselling or psychotherapy daunting. If you would like to understand what it is I can offer you, and how it may help you, please contact me via email so that I can explain in greater detail how I might be able to meet your needs.  I am currently working via telephone and online counselling due to the current COVID 19 restrictions.

Drawing from my diverse experience of life and my professional training as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I will support you in exploring your worries and concerns. I will work with you to explore any past and current issues and stay with you on that journey until the time you feel ready to move forward.

I look forward to meeting you.
