About me and my therapy practice
I believe that talking through, often deep rooted, distressing life experiences and uncomfortable emotions with an experienced, empathic counselling psychotherapist can bring about real and positive life changes. Expressing our deepest difficulties and unhappiness to someone, who will listen carefully without judgement, can help us to live a more meaningful and fulfilled life free from the weight of our anguish and distress. For many, putting concerns and feelings into words, and being closely listened to and supported in therapy, is enough to bring about the changes which are hoped for.
Sometimes exploring your thoughts and behaviour patterns can help you become aware of the negative impact they may have on your emotions and experience of life. If this is the case, we can work together to find strategies to help you cope better in situations and circumstances you find difficult, frightening and perhaps impossible.
My approach is integrative which means I am able to draw on different theories and ways of working to help you understand, and cope better with, experiences and concerns in your life which you may be struggling with.
I offer a warm, professional and confidential space for you to explore the crises and concerns which are having a negative impact on the way you feel about yourself, your life and relationships.
I offer individual counselling and psychotherapy for young people from the age of 16, adults and older adults. I offer appointments either via zoom, or face to face in my private counselling room at my home in Englishcombe, Bath (with convenient free parking).
I understand that getting in touch might feel like a huge step, but please call or email if you feel I might be able to help. I'm happy to answer any questions, explain more about my practice, and see if we might work well together.
My aim is to make therapy affordable and accessible. If money is tight, and if you are a student, frontline health care worker, work within education or are a trainee counsellor, I can offer a reduced rate depending on your financial circumstances.
My first session
Initially, I offer a free 30 minute consultation either on the phone or via zoom. This will give you the chance to tell me a bit about yourself, your life and concerns. We can also work out if we will work well together towards bringing about the changes you hope for. I'll also be happy to address any questions or concerns you may have about coming to counselling psychotherapy with me.
