About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapist. I will work with you to explore and help understand your struggles. My type of approach aims at getting to the root cause of your difficulties to bring about lasting change. We will think together about your past, as unresolved difficulties from your past can affect your current life. Together, going at your own pace, I can help you come to terms with your issues. Perhaps you’re aware of recurring patterns of unhealthy behaviour but feel at a loss when trying to alter this. With greater awareness of why you feel, think and act as you do, you will be able to make better choices for yourself. Life can become more fulfilling. You will begin to think more clearly and feel a sense of freedom and creativity.
Practice description
Embarking on counselling or psychotherapy involves commitment from both client and therapist. We would meet at the same time, same place each week for 50 minute sessions. Depending on your needs and situation we would generally meet once weekly although, as the work deepens, it may be necessary to come twice or three times weekly for a time.
My first session
If you would like to contact me to discuss whether my type of therapy might be helpful for you, please either phone or email and I will get back to you promptly. I will usually invite you to come for an initial consultation (via Skype or FaceTime during the Covid19 pandemic) which is an opportunity for you to meet me and talk in confidence about your difficulties. We will also think about your past, including your childhood as unresolved childhood difficulties can affect your life now. There will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have. This consultation lasts approximately 90 minutes. There is no obligation to continue, but if you would like to continue to come for regular weekly sessions, and I feel my type of approach might be helpful for you, I can arrange this or else talk to you about alternative options.

Practice description
Embarking on counselling or psychotherapy involves commitment from both client and therapist. I work open-endedly which means there's no time limit to how long you might wish to come for therapy. Each person is unique and there will be time for the work to unfold at your own pace. If we decide that my type of approach might be helpful for you we will find a mutually convenient slot for you to come for sessions at the same time, same place, each week. Each session lasts for 50 minutes. For some, as the work deepens, there may be a need for a second weekly session.
