About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor, play/filial therapist, NLP coach and hypnotherapist.
I am qualified to Master’s level and have worked in primary/secondary education, health, for national and local charities as well as private practice. I am a registered member of BACP and BAPT and work within their professional and ethical guidance.
I am passionate about supporting good mental health, and positive well-being, nurturing healthy relationships and facilitating personal growth. I understand the importance of working with each individual’s unique circumstance and experience.
My training supports a blended approach to counselling that is adapted to meet what is happening for you as an individual, couple or family unit. I have a particular expertise in working with parents who struggle to support the mental health and well-being of their children.
Practice description
My counselling approach combines person centred, psychodynamic and systems theories.
These are important frameworks for helping us to understand how our past experiences can affect the present and what we can do to make change happen. Understanding our relationships with others too can help make sense of the challenges we face.
As well as talking therapy, I offer creative/play methods in my practice.
Using creative/play methods to represent thoughts, feelings and experiences can be highly beneficial for some individuals. Creativity and play can be particularly effective when working with a parent-child relationships.
My knowledge and skills as an NLP coach and hypnotherapist can be utilised for specific and targeted work.
Before we book our first session it is helpful to have a conversation about your particular circumstance so I can offer you some choices about how we might work together. Making sure that you are working in the way that is right for you, from the outset, is essential to achieving the best outcome for you.
