About me and my therapy practice
Whether you are stressed, anxious, angry or depressed, these feelings may be causing you pain having carried them for some time. Your psychological health is important and by visiting my site, you have taken a positive step in focusing on your emotional wellbeing.
After a short telephone consultation, we will have a full assessment which may last longer than the normal 50 minute session. This enables me to take a personal history from you. By the end of the session I will better understand what has brought you to counselling and will sense how best we might work together.
It is equally important that you feel I am going to be the right Counsellor for you, particularly as you are likely to be opening up about your inner most thoughts and feelings. In doing so, you will want to ensure that you are fully supported in a safe environment.
I provide a safe non-judgemental space, encouraging discussion without barriers. It is natural that it will take time to build trust in me before being able to relieve yourself of the emotional burden you have been carrying.
My style of counselling is non-directive although as we focus more deeply in the work there may be times when it is in your interest for me to confront or challenge you. This would only be done with kindness, aiming to support your emotional growth.
I have worked extensively with bereaved clients, traumatised by the loss of a loved one. We work through the stages of their loss before being able to re-enter their lives, albeit a slightly different life to the one they left behind.
Working in a Womens centre enables me to support clients making different life choices, at odd from the the challenging experiences they have tolerated in the past.
I have experienced life changing counselling in the past and would love you to have your own unique experience.
