About me and my therapy practice

I specialise in helping people with anxiety and relationship issues to recover their confidence, feel more calm and be able to resolve conflict.

Do you find yourself feeling:

  • Overwhelmed - under pressure and struggling to cope
  • Guilty - like you're letting people down
  • Uncomfortable/embarrassed - you're not normally the one asking for help
  • Lost, stuck - you don't know what you want and can't seem to make a decision
  • Frustrated - you just want to get things back to how they were?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, I can help you to:

  • Express your thoughts and feelings
  • Process past experiences and learn what they mean for you in the present
  • Resolve conflict
  • Navigate uncertainty
  • Discover your innermost wishes
  • Overcome obstacles
  • Manage boundaries, to help you get what you want.

HOW I WORK

The therapy I offer is called the person centred approach, which means I don't diagnose or give advice, I go with what you bring. I listen and pay attention to the way you see and feel about things, walking along beside you to help you find your own best answer.

Practice description

WHAT TO EXPECT

The space offered by a weekly, confidential session with a counsellor is like an extra room, an extension for our minds. It is a space in which we can explore what is troubling us and what we are looking for. It is a safe container for our questions and difficult memories - a place where we can unburden ourselves. It is quiet, private and non-judgemental, so that we can finally hear ourselves, away from the noise of others’ well-meant advice. We can leave stuff behind and return to it each week, so that we don’t have to carry it around with us in our daily lives.

SERVICES I OFFER

  • Individual online counselling
  • Individual telephone counselling
  • Medical insurance-funded counselling
  • Group trainings

ABOUT ME

Since qualifying in 2007 I have worked in many different settings including workplace counselling, the NHS and education. I have been in private practice for 10 years.

I am also a musician and my former career was as a writer/ producer in the recording industry. This gives me first-hand knowledge and experience of the highs and lows of the commercial entertainment industries.

I am a keen gardener and developed a bespoke gardening therapy service for young people in 2010.

I am registered and accredited by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I undertake regular professional training to maintain high standards in my practice, have regular clinical supervision and am fully insured.

  • *I AM CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS FOR TELEPHONE OR ONLINE COUNSELLING*

I specialise in helping clients who are struggling with relationship issues, anxiety or low self esteem. I can help you feel calmer, more confident and more at the centre of your decisions.

I work in a mindful way to help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings and physical symptoms, in the here and now and in the past. I don't diagnose or give advice, but walk along beside you to help you find your own best answer. The therapy I offer is called the person centred approach, a non-directive type of counselling which can really benefit those who are feeling lost, stuck or overwhelmed.

Daytime appointments currently available, Mon-Thurs. Contact me for more info or to book a free 15 minute telephone chat.

Sessions take place via Zoom - free and easy to use. You will need to have access to a quiet, private room where you will not be overheard or interrupted. You can use an iPad, smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC and a broadband / WiFi connection.

What happens now? - 1. Contact me to make an enquiry. 2. If you feel that it could be supportive for you to continue with your sessions, these take place weekly at the same time.
