About me and my therapy practice
Are you experiencing challenging times, or feeling stuck or overwhelmed? I can help and support you in a calm, confidential space, where you can talk freely about whatever is on your mind. It is a great relief to share your troubles with someone impartial, who won’t judge you or give you their advice. Counselling may be your first experience of someone really listening to you and understanding your situation from your perspective.
Over time, you’re likely to become clearer about your situation and your options. You may feel ready to make a decision you've been putting off or become more accepting of your situation. Equipped with coping strategies, clients often feel more resilient and confident. You are likely to have higher self-esteem, be more assertive and have improved relationships with those around you. You'll find that you're able to enjoy each day more, feeling calmer.
Counselling for children: I offer help and support to children of secondary age who are facing challenging situations at school or at home. I have spent a number of years working in a secondary school.
I'm experienced in working in a wide range of areas and see clients in Tiverton, Bampton and Exeter. I also offer telephone and online counselling and home visits.
Alongside my private practice, I’m a lecturer in counselling at Exeter College, where I train others to become counsellors. I’m also a supervisor of other counsellors.
Getting started: In the first session, we’ll explore what has brought you to counselling and your aims. I’ll explain how I work and how I could help. You remain in charge of what you bring to counselling and we'll move along at your pace
I appreciate that it can feel daunting to make initial contact with a counsellor. If you'd like some support, or you feel as though you've reached a limit, then the time is right. Please do get in touch.
