About me and my therapy practice

I am a person-centred counsellor/therapist. I trained and qualified at LC&CTA (Lewisham Counselling and Counsellor Training Associates) in London. There I obtained the Intermediate Certificate in Counselling Skills, the CPCAB-accredited Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies and the BACP-accredited Higher Professional Diploma in Counselling with distinction. I was also presented with the Outstanding Achievement Award 2018 for outstanding research in the field of counselling and psychotherapy.

I have been a volunteer at London Friend, an LGBTQ+ charity, for over 10 years and a key worker for Antidote, a drug and alcohol support service. I have also worked in a counselling agency in Deptford. My clients have faced a number of issues including depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, relationships and intimacy problems, addiction, loss, stress, bullying and abuse. I currently work for London Friend to provide support for LGBTQ+ people particularly affected by the pandemic.

I offer non-directive and non-judgemental therapy. The person-centred approach encourages the client to freely express emotions and feelings, and explore what goes on in their life. I support the client in achieving their own potential for growth and problem resolution by allowing them to take a more active role. I provide favourable conditions at all times during therapy through empathy, non-judgment and honesty, enabling the client to find inner resources that bring about change.

I am aware of conflicting cultural values some clients may face. I work with people who seek asylum. I work with clients who have experienced abuse, discrimination and social isolation due to their sexual identity and their cultural background. I work sensitively with difference and diversity.

No matter your reasons for making first contact, I will not judge you. My role as a person-centred counsellor is to create a welcoming, accepting and supportive environment.
