About me and my therapy practice

My work background is in Motivational Teaching, Wellbeing & TV Journalism. I work holistically within a non judgemental trauma focus, listening carefully to you and your intricate process.

I offer a safe, calm space to allow you to make some sense of your world.

You may be feeling anxious or overwhelmed - Perhaps you are disillusioned with life in general, or tired of holding on to negative self-beliefs, repeating the same old patterns or ways of handling things that you may have outgrown?

You might be needing support while you are going through a tough life transition or challenging life threatening illness, like cancer. 

You may be faced with impossible choices or experiencing desperate loss.

I am experienced at working with both men, women and children from varied social backgrounds with a broad variety of issues.

How do I work with you?

I offer an integrative approach in the therapeutic space. 

I use the relationship between us to allow your story and processes to unfold, enabling you to grow in self-awareness and re-connect to your authentic 'self'.  

This means I draw on different psychotherapeutic theories. We would work collaboratively at your pace - building new awareness around the issues you are faced with.

What to expect when you come to Counselling or Psychotherapy...

How does it work?

After an initial confidential phone call / email - we will agree a place and time to meet for an initial consultation. 

This will last for one hour in one of my comfortable and quiet consulting rooms, or on-line via Zoom or Skype during Covid-19 restrictions. 

Our session will be completely confidential.

(I will give you clear directions on how to find me. There is also a map on this site to help you)

How many sessions might you need?

In our first meeting, you will hopefully get an idea on whether you might feel comfortable enough to work with me, to achieve your goals in a therapeutic relationship. After this initial assessment of each other, we will then agree on how many sessions you would like to commit to. Usually, we would meet weekly on the same day and time. Some people only need 10-12 sessions of counselling, in order to achieve their goals or to alleviate their symptoms. Others may need or prefer to stay in counselling & psychotherapy for much longer.

My first session

I offer a FREE initial 15 minute phone call to see if we are a 'fit'.

All latest research in Neuroscience tells us that Positive Outcome in therapy points to the quality of the relationship between the therapist and client/patient.

If you feel comfortable -  we would then set up a 1hour Initial Consultation as a mutual assessment, to see if we could work together.
