About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced psychotherapist who works with adults. You are welcome to work with me either in person at my comfortable office which is on the border between North Yorkshire and East Lancashire or if you prefer, I am equally qualified and experienced to work with you online.
My way of working is informal and relaxed. I don’t make judgements or tell you what I think you should do. I begin by helping you to tell me what is troubling you. I listen carefully and support you to make sense of your experiences, thoughts, and emotions. I help you to find meanings, identify patterns, and explore your choices. I support you, to think about yourself with more compassion and clarity; strengthen your sense of who you are; and, better understand your relationships with others.
I work in a way which draws on different models of psychotherapy which include, psychoanalytic, self psychology humanistic and contemporary cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), while drawing on evidence from current research in psychotherapy, psychology and neuroscience.
How we get into difficulties is dependent on our unique experiences; my training and experience enables me to tailor how I work to fit with your individual needs.
