About me and my therapy practice

There are as many counsellors as there are problems, so how do you choose the right counsellor for you? I recognise how unique we all are and that all our needs are different, so I work hard to provide a tailor-made therapy for all my clients. I am able to call upon my person-centred counselling skills, my training as an Eating Disorder practitioner and my knowledge of CBT to do this.

I can offer both face-to-face and online sessions for either the short (short-term focussed therapy) or long-term.

I strive to offer my clients a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to explore whatever issues or problems that they choose to share. My comfortable counselling room is used for the sole purpose of meeting with clients and has a private and discreet entrance. There is free parking available on the road outside. Sessions last for 50-60 minutes.

I understand the pressures and worries that many of us face on a daily basis and that we don’t always feel we are able to cope when life challenges us but I believe that counselling can provide people with the life-skills and techniques necessary to bring about change and self-improvement. I don’t 'offer advice' or tell people 'what they should do' – but I do work ‘with’ people to find their own answers and solutions. My aim is to empower people so that they feel stronger and more resilient and able to face and change, if necessary, the anxiety, stress and behaviours that are currently damaging their lives.

To help clients decide how counselling might help them and whether I am the right counsellor for them to work with – I offer an initial session at a reduced fee of £25 so that we can meet and explore this together. I am also able to offer reduced fees for students/unwaged/long-term therapy.

About me and my therapy practice

People often turn to counselling when life becomes overwhelming or confusing. As a person-centred counsellor, I recognise that most clients enter counselling in an anxious and vulnerable state. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment, where clients can explore their thoughts or feelings about whatever issues they choose to bring to sessions. I work together with my clients to help them make sense of what’s happening in their lives and what options are available to them. I hold a qualification in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) which can be useful to challenge unhelpful or damaging, behaviours and thoughts. I have also trained with the National Centre for Eating Disorders and am an experienced Eating Disorder Practitioner. I hope to empower people so that they feel stronger and better equipped to deal with life’s many challenges. To help clients decide whether I am the right counsellor for them, I offer an initial session for £20, subsequent sessions are £35. Eating Disorder Therapy £45 per session. Students £25. Concessions are available for long-term therapy. I work face-to-face or via Skype – or a mixture of both.
