About me and my therapy practice
Hi and thank you for visiting my profile.
We can all struggle at times with different types of problems, such as feeling anxious, stressed, depressed, having relationship issues, experiencing parenting difficulties or work stress, to name just a few. For many of us, while living in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic, these challenges can sometimes begin to feel overwhelming.
Talking to someone can really help. I offer a safe and non-judgemental space where you can be the real you and say the things you really want and need to say...as they really are. You don't have to feel hidden or unheard anymore. If you are feeling trapped, we can look at your options and explore ways you can move forward and overcome any obstacles you may be facing. I would feel privileged to work alongside you to help you uncover the answers and solutions you are seeking, believing and respecting that you are the expert in your own life.
I have been a qualified Integrative counsellor for a number of years, therefore, my training and experience as a counsellor, combined with my own life experiences, will help me to tailor your counselling sessions to meet your specific needs.
What counselling can look like
Counselling is a private and confidential conversation. Currently I am not offering face to face counselling within a therapy room. However, this conversation can still successfully take place over the telephone or via an online platform such as Zoom or FaceTime. I offer short or long-term therapy, which ever you feel you may need. I also offer Outdoor/Nature Therapy; this is an opportunity to get outdoors and connect with nature, which can often bring more clarity of thought and has been evidenced to improve wellbeing.
Each counselling appointment will usually last for up to one hour and will take place on a day and at a time that is convenient for you and you are in control of how many counselling sessions you have. I offer a one-off initial assessment so that you can decide if I'm the right counsellor for you.
I also deliver a course called Understanding and Promoting Wellbeing. This course is aimed at support businesses and organisations to promote and increase the wellbeing of their workforce. However, it would be as effective with any group of people and can be tailored to the specific needs of the group. If you feel this would be beneficial for your workplace or group, please contact me for more information regarding the aims of this course.
My first session
The first counselling appointment is a time where we can get to know each other and where you can decide if you would like to work with me and if I feel I can help you. During the first appointment, I would take some of your details and we would discuss what has brought you to counselling and you can set goals for your counselling if you feel this would be helpful. The appointment will be relaxed and friendly and I am open to working with you in a way that you will find most helpful and we can discuss this together.
