About me and my therapy practice

You may be reading this because you’ve reached a point where something needs addressing, or perhaps you’ve given yourself the space to do so. You may have found yourself in a similar circumstance once again and would like to unpick why that might be. Or you are confronted with significant change and would like to understand what that means to you. I work with a broad range of issues and individuals, but often specialise in life transitions, and exploring sense of self and self-esteem, frequently centering around significant relationships, including with one’s work or career.

It can be daunting, even terrifying, to broach therapy. You may have thoughts or feelings that are difficult to articulate, but these deserve to be heard and understood, even just to yourself. I see my role as counsellor and psychotherapist to contain, to try to connect, and to hold a mirror up to what you wish to bring. The pace will be set by you. I endeavour to find a balance between witnessing your story and making a statement on it for your consideration. I’m an integrative practitioner, meaning I draw from a number of modalities to find the best fit for the individual and issue, though my premise tends to be an amalgamation of The Skilled Helper model, psychodynamic theory and person-centred values. For example, at times we may be solution focussed, and at other times reflecting on how past experiences may be playing out in the present, all the while creating and maintaining a space in which for you to take your own shape.

Practice description

I have a private practice and work with individuals; adults (ages 18 and above), of all gender identities. I have also worked for an orgnaisation providing low-cost counselling to people working in the arts, and I've previously been an honorary counsellor for Mind in Haringey, and a psychotherapy service in south west London.

Qualifications:

University of East London, Postgraduate Diploma Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP accredited)

Tavistock Relationships, Introduction to Psychodynamic Couples Psychotherapy

City Lit London, Person-Centred Counselling Skills Level 2

University of Leeds, BA (hons) Fine Art International, incl. 1 year at Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts, Krakow

As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy I adhere to the BACP ethical framework and receive regular clinical supervision from an accredited practitioner.

My first session

You can contact me by phone or email if you would like to arrange an assessment.
