About me and my therapy practice

I trained as a counsellor after counselling was a lifeline for me. I understand how it feels to be struggling, and having someone to support me through a difficult time changed my life. Counselling has helped me to accept myself and be happy in my own skin. I have worked to manage my own anxiety and low mood, so I relate to how it feels to be finding life tough.

Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 9.30am till 5pm. As a general guide, after four sessions you should begin to feel a shift in your thinking and feelings. Counselling doesn’t have to mean a big investment, in terms of time and money. And you don’t have to commit to any number of sessions - how often you have therapy and for how long is your choice. My view is that if you are thinking about therapy, try one session - you’ll then know if the therapist and the timing is right for you.

I offer one-to-one confidential counselling service in person and on FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom, Skype, online and phone, specialising in anxiety issues, relationship issues, family issues, panic attacks and bereavement. I work within a private therapy space, offering a safe, non-judgemental and accepting face-to-face counselling service in a relaxing room in Formby, Liverpool. Remote counselling is also fully confidential.

For me, feeling safe during counselling is the key, and all the services I offer are completely confidential - this allows you to really explore your fears, concerns and issues.

I offer support for a further range of issues - divorce, substance or alcohol dependency, eating disorders , anxiety resulting from medical concerns, anger and trauma. This is not an exhaustive list - there are many other issues which may bring you to counselling. I also offer CBT.

I am available Monday to Friday 9.30am till 5pm, subject to available appointments.

Practice description

My therapy room is a purpose-built house in the garden, separate from the house and accessible through a side gate. For me, a safe and confidential counselling environment is so important, and I strive to offer a peaceful space with a feeling of safety that is away from the stresses of life. With a view of the garden, the therapy room offers a therapeutic experience rather than a clinical one.

My first session

The first session is a chance to experience the environment as well as for us to meet and work together to identify what you would like to focus on. However, it is a full counselling session, not simply an introductory meeting. A lot can be achieved in an hour, and it allows you to decide if you wish to return for further sessions.
