About me and my therapy practice
I am Jacqui. I am a registered Person-Centred counsellor with over 25 years experience. I can offer you time and space to talk about your concerns at your own pace where you will be listened to and accompanied on your journey of self exploration and discovery.
Please note that during the current Covid-19 restrictions I am only offering sessions via secure video-conferencing or by telephone to ensure the safety of all concerned.
I work with many different types of issues and mental health problems but I have a special interest and experience in working with bereavement and losses of all kinds, not just those associated with death of a loved one, bereavement from the loss of a companion animal, health related issues, including health anxiety in this time of Coronoavirus, cancer and any life limiting illness as well as the time when life draws to a close.

In addition to 'talking therapy' I am also interested in using creative media and writing for wellbeing to help clients explore what is happening for them. All are offered in an open, Person-Centred way with no obligation to take up the offer.
I am very open to clients bringing along anything that they feel helps them work with their concerns a little easier. This can be sharing photographs, using pictures, objects and music, the list is not exhaustive.
As I am also a poet and writing for wellbeing practitioner I am able to offer sessions that have a focus on writing with suggestions for exploring difficult issues in a way that enables you to look at them in a safer way. This can be individually or as part of a group.
My first session
The first session is offered at a reduced price and is an opportunity for you to talk about what brings you for counselling at this time. There is no obligation for you to continue if you do not wish to. I usually suggest you take some time to think about how the session went for you. Of course, if you feel you would like to continue at the end of this session that's fine too.
You will be able to get a sense of how I work and if you feel comfortable talking to me. It also enables me to check I am the right person to be helping you.
We can look at what you want to achieve or get from counselling, your ideas on how long you might wish to take, how we can work together and if we are a 'good fit'.
