With the challenges of Covid 19 we are all very mindful of one another's personal safety.
For the foreseeable future, I am offering online face to face sessions via Zoom, or telephone counselling.
My counselling room is very small, so it is highly unlikely that I will be offering physical face to face sessions for the remainder of this year.
About me and my therapy practice
My name is Lydia and I have 13 years experience as a counsellor for adults experiencing emotional upheaval, anxiety or stress.
If you are experiencing difficult feelings that stop you from enjoying your life to the full.
If you would like to make some changes in your life and don't know where to start.
If you have had an upsetting event or upheaval in your life, now or in the past that you are struggling to come to terms with.
If you are struggling in your relationships with your partner, family, friends or at work.
If any of the above applies to you, I can help you.
I offer a free 30 minute introductory session where we can explore the best way to help you.
I offer a talking therapy that focuses on change. I work on the premise that everyone has the ability to learn how to cope with challenging situations in their lives and develop emotional resilience that will enable them to move towards a happier future.
I offer both short term and longer term counselling, depending on your needs.
Originally from London; Northampton has been my home for over 16 years. When I am not counselling, I enjoy many creative pursuits in my spare time such as photography, art and music.
Practice description
Due to Covid 19, I am currently offering face to face counselloing online via the Zoom platform. I also offer telephone counselling.I anticipate this will be the case until at least the end of 2021, at which point I will review the situation.
This does not affect the quality of the service I am able to offer clients and your counselling will be discreet and confidential from start to finish.
In fact there are benefits to working online. You will not have to travel and can have counselling in the safety and comfort of your own home. Clients have told me that they find counselling more relaxing because they are already in a comfortable and familiar place.
If it is difficult to find space at home, we can have telephone counselling. I have been offering telephone counselling for nearly two years for those clients who prefer to work this way.
I offer a free 30 minute introductory session where we can discuss your counselling needs.
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute introductory session. In this session you will have the opportunity to tell me some more about what has brought you to counselling, and we can look at ways that I could help you.
You will be able to ask me questions about how I work, and we would discuss what has or hasn't worked for you in the past and what you would like to change.
We would discuss a potential timescale for your counselling and the cost of your counselling.
I will send you a copy of the terms and conditions of our work together which would have my contact details, payment details, etc.
At the end of our introductory session, you will be invited to go and take as much time as you need to reflect on our session and decide whether you would like to engage in counselling with me.

About me and my therapy practice
About me
ONLINE SUPERVISION SESSIONS AVAILABLE - UK WIDE
I am an experienced supervisor with a Level 6 CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision.
My core counselling training was Psychodynamic, but in the 10 years since I qualified, I have integrated elements from other orientations into my work, such as person centred and solution focused, offering a relational based therapy to my counselling clients.
Where I work
I offer supervision sessions online using the Zoom platform. I am also able to offer telephone supervision for ongoing sessions.
How I work
I offer individual and group supervision to qualified counsellors.
I supervise counsellors from any modality. This is because the supervision model that I use focuses on exploring relational and contextual issues that affect your work, not just what happens in sessions with your client. My way of working is both relational and systemic and can stand alone regardless of the theoretical leanings of either counsellor or supervisor.
My aim is to provide you with a dynamic, flexible supervision relationship that will really help you reflect on and develop your work as a counsellor.
