About me and my therapy practice

As an integrative therapist, I am able to draw together several different theoretical approaches to enable me to respond flexibly to your presenting issues.

I also feel that because I work solely online, I am able to offer clients the flexibility and opportunity to access therapy in a way that fits within an increasingly busy world.  I can also make therapy available to those for whatever reason may find the journey to a set location difficult.

The belief that the relationship is fundamental is at the heart of my work.  Without the trust that can exist between therapist and client, the work suffers and ultimately the client doesn't move towards the positive change that they seek.

We all experience life difficulties in our own unique way.  No two people are alike and the impact these difficulties have will be different for each person.  I see my role as a therapist as building both a relationship with you and an understanding of your unique story, which will allow me to support you with strategies and interventions that seek to help you to move towards a more positive place in your life and emotional wellbeing.

Practice description

I offer counselling through a variety of different platforms.  I use Microsoft Teams for video and chat based sessions.  I offer sessions by telephone and email.

It is my hope that by offering these varied channels for therapy to take place that it will make counselling available and more accessible to those who perhaps, because of a busy life, or other reasons may find the idea of visiting a physical location difficult.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet and start to discuss your difficulties and concerns.  I have certain questions that I will ask to make sure that I have all of the relevant information to start to think about how we might work together.

It's also an important opportunity for you to think about what you want to gain from counselling and how you feel about working at a distance.  It will allow you to experience what working with me will be like and ultimately give you the opportunity to make a decision around working with me on a longer term basis.
