I work Monday through to Friday during school hours. I can offer evening sessions, although this depends on times and locations due to the dark nights. Some Saturday mornings could also be an option.
About me and my therapy practice
The government guidelines influence everything at the moment, yet my style of supporting is safe and adhered to correctly.
My counselling room is the outdoors. It has been since the end of 2019 when I decided to set up my own practice. I decided to utilise all of my professional experience , along with the greatness of the outdoors and become a walking therapist! I am not taking away the success of the traditional counselling room, however the proven benefits of walking, and then talking, combined are huge. It benefits both physical health and creates positive mental health all at the same time. I travel to a place that we both agree on, making sure that we can currently stay safely apart but still close enough to receive support. We can plan walks that suit your dinner hour at work, or where you live, through research and my own experience juggling home life, work and your own self is very hard, making the chance to seek support even harder. I walk in most weathers but, if its stormy and unrealistic, the session wont be lost and the chance of Skype or telephone is always available.
I have experience within a female prison, sexual exploitation, carers, anxiety , depression, suicidal thought, self harm and addictions. My own experience lends me with bereavement, debt, betrayal and divorce, diagnosis of MS , and redundancy.
I qualified as a counsellor in 2017 , studying at Sunderland University. I then went on to achieve my BaHons in Counselling there too.
I offer CBT approaches, but also include person centered or Gestalt, whatever I feel benefits you and what you feel comfortable with.
My first session
I always prefer to speak on the phone first, a complimentary call in order for me to get an idea of what you are looking for with regards to support, and If what I can offer you will help.
We can discuss locations to walk and possible goals, and to keep up todate with the corona guidleines.
Sessions are £40, to be paid via bank transfer or contactless , prior to each session.
