About me and my therapy practice

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults and young adults over the age of 16 years old.

Are you feeling lonely dealing with personal issues on your own?  Maybe you are struggling to cope or feeling hopeless, down or sad; maybe something just does not feel right and you are not sure why; maybe you are trying to make sense of new thoughts or feelings or have been holding onto something for a long time.

Talking to a therapist gives you the space to safely explore and make sense of how you are feeling.

I have experience working with a wide range of issues, including feelings of stress or anxiety, feeling depressed or unhappy, relationship problems, grief, bereavement and loss, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, anger, abuse, addiction, issues relating to sexuality, family issues and work related issues.

Seeking counselling can be a rewarding experience.   You can gain self-awareness to challenge your established ways of thinking and adapt and develop new ways of coping that work for you.  This might be difficult at times, but rest assured I will be alongside you providing a warm, compassionate and supportive environment where you can be heard and understood.

It is important you take the time to find a counsellor you feel you can connect with and trust.  I am a fully trained integrative therapist and I draw on different ways of working to meet your individual needs.  My relational and collaborative approach incorporates humanistic, psychodynamic and transpersonal methods of therapy.  These enable us to explore, at a pace that suits you, the relationship you have with yourself and others in your life right now and, when past experiences impact how you are feeling today, understanding these can help you to find the resilience and coping strategies for how you may want to move forward.

If you would like to know more about me or whether counselling might work for you, please visit my website or email, call or text me.

Practice description

We can work short-term if you have something specific you want to focus on or long-term where we would review regularly to make sure you are getting what you need from our sessions.

I have extensive experience as a counsellor at a hospice providing support for individuals and family members with a life-limiting illness, and those who have lost a loved one.

I have provided counselling support to young adults 16+ at a sixth form college for issues such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicide ideations, learning difficulties, family and friendship issues, identity, grief and loss, low self-esteem and exam stress.
