About me and my therapy practice

I understand that beginning therapy can be anxiety provoking for people. I am a warm, compassionate and gentle practitioner. Colleagues and clients confirm that I achieve these standards in my approach to therapy. My approach facilitates a feeling of safety, which I find to be essential in counselling.

I have been working for an N.H.S. Neuro-Developmental Service for  15 years and now work privately having commenced my practise in psychotherapy and counselling in 1993. I work with individuals and offer consultancy and training. Please see my website for more details. I work with organisations through their Employment Assistance Programmes (E.A.P.) as well as television companies who provide counselling in their aftercare packages. I also work with Victim Support Homicide. I receive referrals from Harley Therapy Autism Diagnostic Service.

I  can work effectively with People who have  Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome using humanistic and applied cognitive behavioural procedures and have been pro-active in expanding counselling services for people through my work in the NHS and also within my own private practise.

I recommend an initial Therapy Assessment in order to discuss the main issues of concern. I will then be able to recommend a direction in which to work. Assessment and Therapy sessions are usually held for 60 to 90 minutes. An assessment enables me to gain an approximate timeframe for therapy.

My Therapy Clinic is held in Twickenham/Hounslow border. There is free off road parking immediately outside the venue. The 281 bus stop is a 3 minute walk and Hounslow mainline station is a 5 minute walk. My website provides client and professional testimonials which give an account of my practise and ethical standards.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a warm, compassionate and gentle practitioner. Having worked as a Specialist Counsellor within a Neurodevelopment Service for 15 years, I was able to offer Psychotherapy to people with Mental Health Health Issues, Learning Disability and Autism. I also provided Supervision for Trainee Therapists as well as training for organisations supporting People with Learning Disability and Autism including SENCO organisations. Since 2018 I have been working privately as a Counsellor /Psychotherapist and Supervisor of Integrative Counselling.

Currently I am supporting practitioners who provide Counselling and Psychotherapy particularly where there is a need for understanding Autism and ADHD and in applying up to date best practise .

The fee includes 90 minutes of supervision which meets B.A.C.P. Requirements.

Practice description

Having worked within an NHS Multidisciplinary Team for many years I understand the particular issues Therapists have in providing Counselling with the general public and the role of supervision in this process. I am experienced in supporting Trainee Counsellors become Accredited Registered Practitioners. Please see my website for more information.
