About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I am Rachael, I have been providing therapy and supervision in the NHS for 10 years.

I specialise in working with relational issues by focusing on the relationship with yourself and others. I support both couples, families and individuals to improve their communication, attachments and relationships.

If you would like to feel more connected, understood and intimate as a couple and a family then counselling can work with you to develop new awareness and skills to enhance your intimacy and way of relating.

If you wish to work as an individual to develop yourself awareness, gain insight into your relationship patterns and improve your relationships then this therapy could be a good fit for you. I understand the importance of working sensitively to support the impact of trauma, grief, depression, anxiety and bullying on your confidence and functioning.

My therapy is aimed to help you understand how past traumas, attachments and experiences shape your relationship with self and others. Together we work to reduce feelings of Shame, guilt, anxiety and anger and move towards self-acceptance.

Within this work we will consider external factors, past relationships and different techniques to help you develop awareness and apply changes to your pattern of relating.

My approach is collaboratively aimed to enable you to feel more understood and develop your own self-acceptance.  We will work together to address issues such as trauma, infidelity, conflict, lack of intimacy and grief.

About me and my therapy practice

My aim in supervision is to facilitate a collaborative and supportive space for you to discuss your work.

I integrate different techniques and modalities to fit clients and supervisees. I am passionate about working relationally and systemically.

This space can help you feel supported, enhance your awareness, consider different perspectives, and overall feel more confident in your work. I bring my experience of building a full-time private practice and working as a supervisor and clinician in the NHS.

I understand the importance of a safe and supportive space to discuss your clients and for each of us to develop our own ways of being as a therapist.

In supervision we address:

  • Self-doubt and transference/counter transference
  • Exploring different client issues
  • Working within different settings
  • Assist personal and professional development
  • Considering therapeutic techniques and systemic influences
  • Feeling stuck
  • Symptoms of burn out

I am passionate about further training and so  I integrate different counselling models, such as Person-Centered, Systemic Family Therapy, CBT, TA, Interpersonal Therapy and Gestalt.

I understand the challenges of finding suitable supervision and therefore offer a free short meeting to see if I am a good fit for you.
