About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor having trained at the Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Academy in London. I have reached diploma level in 2019, but have started practicing in 2018 as a trainee volunteering at a Greater London counselling organisation that offers short and long-term (max.2 years) psychodynamically oriented therapy. Psychodynamic counselling has remained my main interest.
My training is integrative counselling, offering aspects of psychodynamic, person-centred and transpersonal modalities.
Before the pandemic I exclusively worked in the therapeutic room, face to face with clients. To ensure maximal safety, I have switched to online counselling in April 2020.
My own psychodynamic therapy many years ago was one of the greatest intellectual and emotional experience of my life. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a journey that allows clients to understand how the past experiences inform their present feelings, reactions and behaviours. Once this is revealed, change may happen and clients may feel better in themselves, can improve their relationships with others or come to life-changing decisions. My role is to accompany them on this journey. I am providing an empathic, warm, non-judgemental atmosphere, where the inner strengths and resources can be reinforced. This then allows to be better able to deal with acute or chronic difficulties.
I am offering online sessions on Zoom or FaceTime to clients regardless of their geographical location in English or my native tongue, Hungarian. I also speak fluent Italian.
My first session
The first session is a 90 minute one where I focus on understanding what brings the client to therapy, to understand the brief story of their life, their upbringing, relationships to important others. It is also important to understand their expectation from the counselling. This is an assessment session that, if continuation is agreed on, will be followed by regular 50 minute online encounters.
