About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Psychodynamic Therapist; I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for you to process your thoughts, feelings, actions and circumstances. I believe that you deserve the space to just "be", explore and reflect on past or current experiences, gain more self-awareness and explore new choices and coping strategies. Having that space allows you to implement change and in turn find a different perspective.
Often we can experience inner conflicts, as parts of ourselves want different things. Sometimes the feelings that accompany these needs can feel unacceptable or unbearable. In an attempt to deal with them, we silence, ignore and suppress to try to get rid of these parts. The attempt to get rid of these parts means they find new and extreme ways to be heard causing disruption and distress in one’s life.
Therapy gives you the opportunity to identify how your coping mechanisms came to be. It allows you to make your own decisions about what is and is not serving you.
I am accustomed to, and like, meeting with people from diverse and varied backgrounds, religions, cultures/beliefs and of all ages, abilities and sexual orientations.

My first session
Feeling anxious about starting therapy is natural. Feel free to send me an email, call or text to arrange an initial session. I will take a few basic details in our initial session, and ask you to expand on what your goals are in coming to therapy. I will try to demonstrate the ways in which I work during our first meeting, and explain further how psychodynamic therapy may help in understanding repetitive patterns of behaviour. I try to put people at their ease as I appreciate the courage it may take to begin, or return to, therapy.
