About me and my therapy practice
At different times in our lives counselling maybe helpful. Perhaps you need support with a specific life event such as a bereavement, relationship breakdown or redundancy?
Maybe you are feeling anxious or depressed? Sometimes we do not understand why we are feeling fearful, lost, full of rage, low and lacking in meaning and self-esteem. You may feel unsure about whether you need counselling, or indeed, if counselling's for you?
Perhaps we know there are things in our past that have hurt us; experiences and traumas that we have not yet processed or come to terms with, yet we are aware they impact our lives and relationships today.

My role is to work collaboratively, alongside you, to help you explore whatever is troubling you. I can offer you a safe space, where you will be listened to with empathy, and without judgement. A Person Centred Counsellor will walk alongside you supporting you to realise your potential and inner wisdom, working towards self direction and growth.
I am a Person Centred Integrative therapist, which means I value the relationship between counsellor and client, believing it to be vital to good outcomes and healing.
Integrative means I may use a range of psychotherapeutic theories and skills, including Gestalt and Transactional Analysis to ensure I meet the individual needs of each client.
We may look at the past to help us understand the difficulties in the present. We may focus on how you feel about yourself or how you see yourself in relationships. Working together, we look towards finding a way forward, exploring your life, feelings thoughts and behaviours to both empower you and effect change.
My first session
I offer a free first session.
This gives us the opportunity to get to know each other a little, before committing to therapy. In this session I will explain more fully how I work and gather information about what you maybe bringing, to help me assess your needs.
Appointments last for 50 minutes, after which, if we decide to work together, we will agree a regular time to meet each week.
