About me and my therapy practice

I am currently working in person face-to-face from my consulting room in Uxbridge, west London, providing counselling and psychotherapy, Monday to Friday, with appointments during the day and evenings. I also offer video sessions for those who need or prefer them.

I provide a confidential space to support you in understanding both your difficulties and your strengths, so you can work out what's going on beneath the surface, and what you need to move forward. As an integrative therapist, trained at Postgraduate Level 7 (Master's Level) through the Metanoia Institute and Middlesex University, I use a range of psychological frameworks and therapeutic dialogue in my work.

Solutions to difficulties are unique for each individual, and I work with each client based on their identity and influences - both familial and social - and what they are dealing with and hope to achieve. I have a strong commitment to supporting equality and diversity.

I have worked with a broad range of clients and supported those in crisis, facing mental health challenges or questions over their identity, struggling with relationship difficulties, addressing trauma (including complex trauma cPTSD) -  and often working out how they 'fit in' in the world.

Deeper change and more complex or long-standing problems can take time, and sometimes having a session or two can give you a chance to see if you are ready to make a commitment to longer term therapy.

Please feel free to get in touch on 07900 257150 or by email at to check availability. I an happy to answer questions on the phone, and offer a reduced-fee full-length (50 minutes) initial session costing £40.  I currently have a subsidised slot available for someone on a lower income who is seeking longer term weekly therapy - please get in touch if you are interested in this.

Practice description

I am a qualified counsellor with 10 years experience working in counselling and psychotherapy services, including in the community-based and voluntary sector services, in a university counselling service, for an EAP (Employee Assistance Provider) supporting NHS staff, and in private practice. I hold a Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute in West London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Studies from Metanoia & Middlesex University.

'Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling' means using a range of psychological theories and research findings to help find the best approach to helping with your difficulties.

I am experienced in working with adults of all ages, backgrounds and identities, and through my work as a counsellor and psychotherapist face-to-face through my private practice, and at Brunel University Counselling Service, Hillingdon Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, other NHS trusts, Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service and Ealing Abbey Counselling Service (EACS). I have supported clients to move forward with a range of difficulties including relationship problems, difficulties at work, trauma and abuse, identity and sexuality, emotional issues, and mental health diagnoses such as depression and anxiety.

I am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP) and abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

My first session

I offer a reduced rate first session with a fee of £40 so we can meet and decide whether we think working together would help you.  Qualifications are important, but so is whether you feel the therapist is right for you and can help you (the 'therapeutic fit').

Your initial session offers you a chance share what's led you to seek therapy, to think about what you're seeking to change, and to ask me questions. We might consider whether to work together on a session by session basis, set a fixed number of sessions to focus on a particular goal, or consider whether therapy on a longer term basis might be needed. We can either decide together, or take some time to consider further.
